JOB SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the nurse manager and Radiology staff physician, section head(s) performs the following functions for patients of all ages during diagnostic procedures. Demonstrates knowledge to assist the physician in performing radiologic procedures, responsible for patient care needs, monitoring and documentation throughout radiologic procedures. Demonstrates competency in starting IV's and responding to medical emergencies. Maintains the highest standards of nursing through education and assistance to all patients. Maintains current educational programs for radiology personnel. Observes confidentiality in a non-judgmental manner and delivers patient care regardless of nature of the patient health condition. Follows departmental and Foundation guidelines regarding policies and procedures outlined in the policy and procedure manual. Participates in research projects and nursing quality improvement activities as directed by nurse manager, nurse clinicians or staff radiologists. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of an approved school of nursing, current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio and one year of recent experience. BLS certification. ACLS certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire date.
Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range, requires some exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids.
