Qualifications: Current CA RN license AHA BLS certification. One (1)-year recent (within the last three (3) years) full-time equivalent experience in Pediatrics. Current PALS card required. May be expected to cross train to at least 1 other Perinatal area. Consistently supports compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Kaiser Permanente's Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (if applicable), and Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, EEO. Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, and to customers, contracted providers, and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications: AA and BSN education, Minimum of two years nursing experience in pediatrics, Peds ICU, NICU. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and all levels of management and employees. Ability to assume Relief charge responsibilities and assist with a variety of procedures. Communicates in a clear, concise manner and appropriate to the developmental stage of the patient. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Procedural sedation competency validation to be completed within 3 months of hire. Position requires considerable walking, standing, moderate lifting, exposure to patient elements, and handling of emergencies and critical patient incidents.
