GENERAL SUMMARY : Registered Nurse with specific expertise in pediatric nursing, who assumes responsibility for patient/family assessment, care planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care. As a primary nurse assumes responsibility for coordination of care, communications of nursing care requirements and collaboration with other disciplines. This person functions as a Charge Nurse. All full and part-time inpatient registered nurses will function as Resource Nurse.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Graduate of an accredited program of registered nursing. Basic nursing core curriculum must include pediatric clinical rotation. Required Length and Type of Experience: Experience with nursing care of children and families in acute care setting preferred. Competent in providing developmentally appropriate care to patients in the following age groups: infant, toddler, preschool, school age, and adolescent as evidenced by basic nursing curriculum and/or experience. Required Licensure, Certification or Registry: Current Ohio RN license Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support CPR certification. Required Physical and Environmental Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
