Nursing Director - Nurse Scientist/Researcher, Surgic

We are currently conducting a search for a dynamic Nurse Scientist/Researcher for Surgical Programs. Responsible for working with other Nurse Scientist/Researchers with departmental and divisional leadership to identify and promote quality improvement and research activities within Surgical inpatient and ambulatory clinical areas that support program, departmental, and organizational strategic goals. Mentors staff in evidence- based practice, research and quality improvement projects. Evaluates impact of research activities upon systems and programs, and provides recommendations. Identifies and disseminates opportunities for research funding and submits proposals based on strategic plan. Ensures the provision of analytic, data management and methodological support for the development of performance indicators. Designs outcome studies to evaluate patient care issues, models of patient care delivery, products and/or technology.

PhD in Nursing or a related field with a strong emphasis in research. If Doctorate is in related field, a Master's degree in Nursing is required. Expertise in nursing practice, education, quality improvement strategies and research. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to write and publish in professional journals and texts. Ability to obtain extramural funding for research.

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of MA. Holds faculty appointment or will seek adjunct faculty appointment with a University or School of Nursing. Strong statistical background, as well as data management and analysis methods. Strong computer skills and database experience; SPSS/SAS skills and equivalent statistical analysis for qualitative data analysis such as NVIVO. Preferred pediatric nursing clinical experience.
