The Registered Nurse (RN) working in the Operating Room (OR) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients when caring for the patient in the operative setting. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members. The RN independently coordinates the perioperative nursing care of the surgical patient and ensures appropriate and safe nursing care in the perioperative environment and when receiving patients from or transferring to other nursing departments.
This is a PRN position.
