Responsibilities:
Responsible for the daily operations of the department.
Assumes 24-hour, seven day responsibility, authority, and accountability for assuring the department, and all individuals in the department, achieve the function's mission and clinical expectations for the assessment, treatment, and care of patients.
Delivers care appropriate to the age of patients serviced, i.e. Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric.
Assures staff demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's needs, possess knowledge of growth and development, and have an understanding of the range of treatment needed for these patient groups.
Involved in the establishment and implementation of the organization's Nursing Service philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures, applies concepts derived from management and communication theory, counseling methodologies, clinical nursing judgments, acts as a role model for practices and behaviors and demonstrates effective interpersonal skills.
Accountable for integration of pre-inpatient care including county and city agencies, is a liaison between Medical, Nursing, and Administrative Staff, assumes the responsibility of House Supervisor and/or clinician when required and supports the facility's Mission and Values.

Requirements for this job:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Current RN license in state of practice
Two years clinical experience in specialty area
Member of at least one professional nursing organization
National Certification in area of expertise preferred
Current BLS certification or obtain within orientation process, prior to hands-on patient care
Must have and maintain ACLS & NRP certifications or obtain within 6 months of assignment to department. Six month time frame is at the discretion of the department director
