DEPARTMENT: Interventional Services
SCHEDULE: Full-time, regular; 40hrs/week; SHIFT: Day; Sunday through Saturday 7:30am to 6:00pm
EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited PA/NP program & Surgical Residency program, California PA-C/RNP License, Board Certified, DEA License, BCLS & ACLS certification
QUALIFICATIONS: CV, Surgical/Interventional Case Log, and (2) professional references submitted with application. Minimum (1) year within the past (1.5) years of complex coronary and vascular interventions including minimally invasive surgical approach & experience in both the in-patient and out-patient settings with demonstrated knowledge & competence to:
Function as 1st assist in the Interventional Suites
Conduct daily rounds & document patient care orders (ICU & Floor)
Perform evaluative consults with physicians & other health care providers
Read & evaluate laboratory reports & imaging studies
Manage interventional/procedural problems within scope of practice
Perform therapeutic procedures as outlined in the Delineation of Privileges
Ability to make independent decisions following California Laws & Regulations
Highest level of customer focused service with patients, members, physicians, and staff
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Excellent attendance & "Meets/Exceeds" standards on Performance Appraisal done within the past year
Completion of employee health requirements
Ability to support Cardiac Interventional 1st call schedules in the greater Sacramento area - including after hours and weekends.
Due to operational needs, may be required to have varied start times and work at multiple facilities in the Sacramento area.
. Qualified Nurse Practitioners (NPs) will be given hiring preference over qualified Physician Assistants (PAs). NPs who do not meet the minimum qualifications are encouraged to apply, and their applications will be reviewed on a case by case basis.

DUTIES: Under the direction of the Chief of Surgery and the Department Manger or designee, qualified applicants will be expected to evaluate, coordinate, provide, and facilitate care for adult and pediatric patients as an extension of the staff surgeons. Specific responsibilities to be fulfilled are outlined in the Job Descption and Delineation of Privileges documents.
