Surgery PRN Surgical Tech M-F, days & evenings / 16 hrs/wk, no weekends some call

BASIC FUNCTION: Position responsible for providing proficient perioperative patient care through the use of equipment and instrumentation. Functions as a scrub assistant to the physician performing operative and/or invasive procedures. Works under the direction of a Registered Nurse and as outlined in the Surgical Technologist Skills Inventory uses knowledge/expertise to act as a role model and resource for other staff.

Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development as it relates to the different life cycles. Specific age groups that are served by this position are circled.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
*Demonstrates commitment to the Partners-in-Caring process by integrating both Behaviors and Operating Principles in all internal and external customer interactions. Performs duties with accountability, competency, innovation, collaboration, compassion and respect to create the best possible outcomes with exceptional customer experiences.
*Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program with current certification
*One or more years experience as a Surgical Tech in a hospital or surgery center.
*Certified in Basic Life Support.
