Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION: Provides primary care to patients. Assists in the evaluation and treatment of patients. Conducts patient interviews, and collects and interprets diagnostic data. May perform physical examinations and specialized procedures under the direction of a physician. Documents the delivery of care in the individual's medical records. Provides patient education, and trains other health care professionals. Performs related responsibilities as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Certified as a Nurse Practitioner. Licensed as a nurse and approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner by the state of Georgia. Two years of clinical nursing experience may be required for some positions.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in Geriatrics or Psychiatry is preferred.
Additional Job Details The Nurse Practitioner will be a member of the Division of Geriatric Psychiatry/ Fuqua Center for Late-Life Depression team of clinicians. The Fuqua Center is committed to improving older adults-- access to geriatric psychiatry care. Responsibility will be to provide geriatric medical/psychiatry evaluations and medication management in the Emory Outpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic at Wesley Woods, metro Atlanta senior residential facilities, assisted living facilities and nursing homes and via telemedicine clinic at Wesley Woods.

As a Nurse Practitioner, he or she will practice as a part of a team of Geriatric Psychiatrists, NP--s and Psychiatry CNS. Nurse Practitioner will also augment a supervising physician--s ability to provide medical services to patients; collect and document data, conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consultations and provide direct patient care services.

This position is located in the Health Center Bldg on the Wesley Woods campus.
