GENERAL SUMMARY:
Provides general and specialized direct and indirect patient care through the application of sound Nursing Practice procedures and practices to patients of all ages on assigned nursing unit; demonstrates competency in the behavioral, growth, and development, and psychosocial needs of the population served.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Completion of a recognized course of study from an accredited School of Nursing .

Required Length and Type of Experience
* One year related nursing experience required.

Required Licensure, Certification or Registry
* Must be currently licensed to practice in the State of Ohio .
* BCLS certification in all areas due upon completion of orientation.
* ACLS certification in Critical Care/Telemetry/ED/PACU or must obtain same within first year of employment.
* PALS certification in PACU/ED/or must obtain same within first year of employment.
* NRP certification in Obstetrics or must be obtained within six months of hire.
* Additional qualifications may be required for specific patient care areas as defined by the Department of Nursing.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands
* Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Lifts and carries items weighing up to 50 pounds, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
