POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 

JOIN US NOW as the Adult Internal Medicine Health Center at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center is currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner. This is a fast-paced multi-specialty clinic serving an adult patient population 18 years and older. Clinic is open Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. We accept almost all insurance plans.

JOB DUTIES:
Performs comprehensive appraisal of patients 18 years and up. Collaborates with endocrinologists and other physician partner(s) to provide appropriate follow -up care for endocrinology and primary care adult and geriatric patients. Provides diabetic education. Assists endocrinologist with inpatient and outpatient follow-up care of patients especially those with diabetes. Assumes clinical responsibility for tasks performed within the Nurse Practitioner's scope of practice including taking patients history, performing physical examination, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing appropriate therapy, calling patients with results, refilling medications, providing patient education, as well as assisting in the admission of patients to the hospital. Arranges consultations and referrals for patients with chronic illnesses. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:
Registered and certified in AZ as an ADULT Nurse Practitioner.
ACLS certified.
Familiarity with coding and billing guidelines, appropriate scheduling for appointments, and an EMR system desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Good organizational skills.
One year Internal Medicine clinic experience preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish/ English) preferred.
BLS/ACLS provider.
Diabetic educator desirable.
