Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
Founded in 1976, Edward White Hospital is a 167-bed facility located in the heart of South Pinellas County, Florida. EWH is committed to ensuring our patients have access to the highest levels of medical telemetry and progressive care available. Our Progressive Care unit (PCU) is a 42-bed Medical Telemetry/Progressive Care and ICU step-down unit, offering exceptional care for the patients we serve.
- Number of Staff: 54
- Skill Mix: RNs, LPNs, Student Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants, Monitor Technicians (MT on shift 24 hours/day)
- Major Equipment Used: Telemetry Monitors, EKG, IV pumps, IVAC, Dinamaps, Dopplers, Lifting Equipment, Accu-Check, Omnicell, Crash Cart
- Special Certifications Needed: BLS required, ACLS preferred
- Special Competencies/Skills Needed: Past telemetry experience preferred with ability to demonstrate proficiency in rhythm interpretation; critical thinker, self-motivated, high energy, positive attitude, team player
- Schedules: 12-hour shifts (7-7); Full Time is considered 36 hours per week, including every other weekend; overtime available, but not mandatory; Computerized Self-scheduling is available
- Dress code: Professional scrubs (individual provides their own)
- Designated Charge Nurse on the day shift and night shift who DOES NOT take an assignment - the charge nurse is there for you and the patients to make the shift run smoothly.
- Complete computerized charting (Meditech) for patient assessment and care documentation
- Electronic medication administration record (eMAR) is used for the delivery of all medications provided to patients
- Lifting Equipment available: Opera, Encore, Maxislides, Z-slides

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing; BSN desired. Previous Tele experience required.
Current State Registered Nurse License.
Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Current American Heart Association ACLS Provider card required within one year of hire date.
