GENERAL SUMMARY:

The global goal of this position is to use evidence based outcome initiatives in order to assist the system in achieving best practice/benchmarking. This position operationalizes outcome assessment initiatives through the assigned medical staff departments, PI teams, and/or service lines in order to evaluate effectiveness and potential opportunities for improvement. Other key components of this position is to abstract clinical data elements from medical records and generate reports that will assist in performance improvement activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Graduated from an approved school of nursing and/or equivalent medical experience in the field of critical care
* Licensure in a healthcare profession preferred
* Proactive philosophy, flexibility and adaptability essential
* Computers, word processing, database and spreadsheet knowledge essential
* Independent worker, able to work with deadlines; strong organizational skills are highly recommended
* Excellent written/verbal communication skills

Required Length and Type of Experience
* This position prefers an RN with critical care experience and/or equivalent medical experience in the field of critical care.

Required Licensure, Certification or Registry
* RN or equivalent medical experience in a critical care area.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands:
* Manual dexterity to operate basic office equipment
* May involve extensive periods of sitting and viewing of PC
