The CNS works in collaboration with the management team, peers and staff to advance nursing and promote the development of an evidence-based professional practice environment The CNS works to continually improve clinical outcomes, and provide clinical expertise to effect system-wide changes to improve programs of care.
The position reports to the Associate Chief Nurse for Professional Practice and will be joining a high performance team of managers and educators. These positions require graduation as a clinical nurse specialist with an earned master’s degree or Ph.D. from an accredited graduate program in Nursing and Board certification in their specialty. Board eligible candidates with experience will be considered with commitment to obtain certification within six months of hire. Successful candidates will be experienced clinical experts with outstanding teaching skills and the ability to facilitate organizational change.
Adult Critical Care Microsystem: To provide support to programs, staff and patients/families in our four adult critical care units and 2 progressive care units on both campuses. NCH performs more than 500 open heart surgical procedures annually, as well as a wide variety of critically ill patients in a high acuity population. NCH has been ranked #1 in Florida for Heart Care by Healthgrades.
