Ogallala OR facts for surgery manager:- Number of beds: 20- Patient ratio: 1:1- Annual average patients/cases: 600- Number of professionals in dept.: 8- Support staff: 2 PRNs that are not coded to the OR department.- Type of equipment/software used: Computerized Charting- full time general surgeon and ortho surgeon.- 2 surgery rooms: one for surgical cases; one typically for scopes- Types of surgeries include of lap choles, lap appys, breast biopsies, hernias, bowel resections, mastectomies, total joint replacements and trauma surgeries.

Responsibilities:
- Provides management and direct patient care for the Surgery Department.- Ensures the delivery of high quality perioperative management and services.- Administers and directs nursing care and all related activities of operating room, recovery room and central sterilizing.- Utilizes professional judgment, knowledge, and leadership to develop new methods, educate others, improve systems, and demonstrate responsibility for administrative duties.- Collaborates with all members of the health care team to provide quality surgical management and service to our customers.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM SURGICAL MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska.- Bachelor's degree (need not be a BSN).- Must have previous operating room experience; have skills in supervision and leadership; be able to direct the work of others; maintain accurate records; effectively communicate both verbally and in writing; and carry out effectively the nursing process.PRFIVE5PREMPRFIVE5YAHOOSMART
